M74 Closure

July 2024 · 1 minute read

Major delays are expected on a stretch of the M74 this weekend after it is set to close so a bridge can be removed as part of the motorways upgrade.

It will be closed in both directions, from J4 Maryville to J5 Raith from 8pm on Friday to 6am on Monday.

Bothwellpark Road Bridge, north of J5 Raith, will be demolished to allow motorway widening as part of the works

This closure will result in significant disruption to the M74 north and southbound traffic on approach to the closure, as well as on the surrounding local roads. Major delays are expected on the diversion routes and road users are advised to

Rail passengers should note that on Sunday 20 November only there will be no Rail Services between East Kilbride and Glasgow. Bus replacement will be in operation.
