A SiriusXM radio host has sparked outrage after she made light of the deadly Texas wildfires that killed six people.

Ashley Till, the host of The Highway on SiriusXM radio, was giving a weather report on the wildfires in the Texas Panhandle on Friday when she made the comment.

'BBQ for everyone,' Till joked.

The 28-year-old was immediately criticized for taking lightly the devastation that has left dozens displaced from their homes and forced several thousands to evacuate.

One Facebook user wrote: 'The fact that Ashley Till on SiriusXM the Highway can make jokes about the total devastation and loss of life in Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Kansas just amazes me. Some people lost EVERYTHING they had. People lost their lives. Livestock died. And you think it's 'one big BBQ'. What a joke. Some people have absolutely NO respect.'

'#FIREASHLEY,' Mary J. Martinez Hinson wrote on the channel's Facebook page.

And several people also said they would no longer subscribe to SiriusXM.

'Due to Ashley Till I'll make sure not to have a SiriusXM account... Nashville music is a joke that's not funny these days anyways...Texas doesn't need satellite radio with a**hole DJ'S!' another said on Facebook.

Till posted an apology on her blog Friday, calling her remark 'a stupid, dumb mistake'.

'I made a comment on air regarding the fires in texas. I said three words after we did a weather update and it was 'bbq for everyone'.

Till said her mistakes were not 'knowing the full story' and 'making light of a tragedy'.

'People are assuming I have no regard for human life or that I don't care about the damage that has been done. This is simply not the case. I honestly didn't know the full story of the fires. This isn't an excuse,' she wrote.

'Of course I understand what I said hurt many people. I also understand that it was a stupid, dumb mistake.

'And from the bottom of my heart I am sorry,' she wrote.

A spokesperson for SiriusXM did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the DailyMail.com.

The three who died in Gray County, in the Texas Panhandle, were identified as Emmert Sloan, Cody Crockett and Sydney Wallace. All three were ranch hands who died while trying to save cattle.

Two of the state's three fires are fully contained, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

The largest - which burned about 500 square miles in the northeast Panhandle near the Oklahoma border - was 75 per cent contained Thursday.
