PayPal Checkout, formerly known as PayPal Express Checkout, is a tool made for online sellers. It allows customers to buy goods or services easily, without the need to input their shipping and billing details.

This ensures that the customer's personal and payment information is transmitted securely to the merchant. It also makes shopping online quicker and easier than ever โ€” a win/win situation for both sides.

Here's what you should know about PayPal Checkout.

PayPal Checkout, explained

PayPal Checkout completely eliminates the need for customers to spend time inputting their billing and shipping information when purchasing an item online.

Instead, on sites with PayPal Checkout enabled, they can simply log in with their PayPal username and password, select the payment method already connected to their PayPal account, and that's it โ€” purchase completed.

PayPal then sends the payment information to the business so the items can be shipped. The customer doesn't need to do anything else.

PayPal Checkout could increase sales due to its ease of use, allowing customers to purchase directly from item description pages or their shopping cart.

However the service, while a more efficient service for both customers and merchants alike, isn't free for merchants.

Businesses that choose to use PayPal Checkout will be charged a 2.9% fee, plus $0.30 per transaction.

But given that there are no startup fees or monthly dues to pay, many sellers find this to be a great option for their business.
